Do I have to take the Level 2 & 3 courses in a particular order?
After the Level 1 Courses, Introduction to Holistic Aromatherapy & Anatomy & Physiology II, you can begin your Level 2 studies. I do recommend completing Advanced Holistic Aromatherapy & Anatomy & Physiology II first, then, from there, it is recommended, but not mandatory to continue with Personal Care Holistic Aromatherapy, Advanced Aromatherapy Blending techniques then Business Development I. Once you reach Level 3 studies, the recommended, but not mandatory order would be Aromatherapy for the Integumentary System, Aromatherapy for Mind-Body Health, Business Development II and Advanced Pathophysiology, respectively. This will help develop your knowledge, expertise and skills, building upon the foundation you gained in Level I.
What does “lab hours” mean and how to do I complete them?
Lab hours are your “hands-on” training. The lab hours consists of case studies that you will complete in your home or workplace, as well as eWorkbook review, book report, research paper, creating custom blends that you will mail into the JennScents Aromaversity for review and grading, and any other assignments described within the course.

What makes the JennScents Aromaversity special and different from other schools?
Clinical Phyto-Aromatherapist, herbalist, educator and Aromapreneur™, Jennifer Hochell Pressimone, has created an Aromaversity® culture that teaches and mentors, with the goal of empowering its students with knowledge, hands-on direction to practice blending skills in a practical and actual setting, develop the ability to devise and formulate effective solutions to solve a problem and deliver guidance where needed to enhance your vision and mission. With hands-on direction, you will be able to apply your knowledge in combination with your skills to find, acknowledge, practice and pursue your niche talents, allowing you to flourish and develop your own style of aromatherapy with confidence and professionalism. This will help you mold your skills into the practicing aromatherapist you want to be.
Our courses were thoughtfully and strategically designed to provide layers of in-depth and comprehensive training throughout three levels of courses, to lay a solid foundation and deepen roots in the practices of authentic aromatherapy. The goal is to create a journey of understanding aromatherapy historical practices from past to present, current practices and evidenced-based research, in-depth safety guidelines from a practitioners and self-help point of view and carry that through each essential oil and carrier profile, blending techniques, formulation of diverse products for specific health concerns and niche needs, and then to cultivate a thriving and relevant aromatic business in a niche area.
Will an aromatherapy certificate license me in aromatherapy?
No, there is not a legal license that is mandatory in the US, to practice aromatherapy. However, be familiar with your state and federal laws about behaviors and practices that constitute “practicing medicine without a license”. If you are seeking a career in aromatherapy, most companies and employment positions require professional and/or clinical training and proof of a certificate of completion in at least Level 2 training. As an Aromapreneur™, your clients and colleagues will appreciate your higher level of aromatic education.
International students: You will need to review and comply with your country laws.
If I complete an aromatherapy certification with another aromatherapy school, will my credits and courses transfer to the JennScents Aromaversity®?
No. As you can imagine, course material will vary from school to school, although the NAHA required topics taught are consistent. The content and depth of content is hard to compare and a very tedious process. At the JennScents Aromaversity®, we have designed our courses and certification programs to deliver layers of education and skill development, with each course building upon the previous course. It is a journey, not only of scents but for personal and business development. You will learn certain education and skills in Level 1, then in Level 2 that will be put into action for various niches to help you expound upon that knowledge and develop your blending and formulation skills. Level 3 employs your skills, taking them to a heightened level for advanced practitioner use and business.
Once I complete a course, how long will I need to wait to receive my Certificate of Achievement?
We have a detailed and efficient online school program that allows you to print your Certificate of Achievement upon successful completion of all the requirements for a course. When you are logged into your account, and locate your course, there is a link to print your certificate.
What learning methods are used during the online studies?
The JennScents Aromaversity® offers a multimodal learning experience with audio, visual, tactile and kinesthetic experiences. Each lesson within a course has an audio and/or visual webinar recording as well as a written workbook, hands-on practical training through blending assignments and case studies (development of listening skills). Assignments will be completed via a personal computer method (Word, Excel, etc.) or legible handwriting, and uploaded into the appropriate lesson. Quizzes and final exams will be completed online.
