Getting Started With Your Aromatherapy Certification
Now that you have made the decision to pursue your aromatherapy certification, let me walk you through the process of getting started with the JennScents Aromaversity. Anytime you start something new, there is a short period of acclimation to learn what you need to do, when and where to do it and to get into a groove. We have made the process to become a student simple, easy, convenient and user-friendly.
- Register for an account
- Purchase your Certification Course (courses will automatically be loaded into your account immediately)
- Start your Course
Once you are enrolled as a student, you need to treat your online education as if you had to show up in an actual classroom. Establish a set schedule where you can dedicate a time frame to learning and completing your course assignments. You will get out of it, what you put in. And your efforts will reflect in your blending. Set a reminder on your smartphone or in Outlook. Whatever works best for you, so school time becomes a habit.
Create a space where you can focus without distractions. Turn off the ringer on your phone and sit in a quiet area with internet connection so you can immerse yourself into each lesson. The lessons do allow for you to start and stop as you need, or pause to make notes.
Smell your essential oils as you are learning about them. There is science behind memory association and learning. If you attach something to the information you are learning and use or smell that “something” when you are retrieving that information, memory will be more enhanced. For example, smell lavender, Lavandula angustifolia, while you are learning about that particular oil. This will help you build a relationship with that oil, as well as enhance your intuition. This is skill that will come in handy as you develop formulations.
Ask questions when you need a concept or idea explained in greater detail. Or when you are working on your course assignments, case studies and research paper.
Check out the Student Resources. We will add new content and resources from time to time. Enjoy the complementary e-books, presentations and tools.
Be committed. Be dedicated. Be passionate. Be you.
Methods of Schooling
The JennScents Aromaversity® offers a multimodal learning experience with audio, visual, tactile and kinesthetic experiences. Each course is broken down into several lessons which make it easy to follow along, and enjoy the journey of learning the material. Each lesson within a course has an audio and/or visual webinar recording that you can start, stop or pause as needed. You will also receive a an e-workbook (available in lesson 1), hands-on practical training through blending assignments, case studies (development of listening skills) and instructor communications. Assignments will be completed via a personal computer method (Word, Excel, PDF, etc.), and uploaded into the appropriate lesson. Quizzes and final exams will be completed online.
Do I have to take the Level 2 & 3 courses in a particular order?
After the Level 1 Courses, Introduction to Holistic Aromatherapy & Anatomy & Physiology II, you can begin your Level 2 studies. I do recommend completing Advanced Holistic Aromatherapy & Anatomy & Physiology II first, then, from there, it is recommended, but not mandatory to continue with Personal Care Holistic Aromatherapy, Advanced Aromatherapy Blending techniques then Business Development I. Once you reach Level 3 studies, the recommended, but not mandatory order would be Aromatherapy for the Integumentary System, Aromatherapy for Mind-Body Health, Business Development II and Advanced Pathophysiology, respectively. This will help develop your knowledge, expertise and skills, building upon the foundation you gained in Level I.
How long do I have to complete each aromatherapy class?
You will have four (4) months from the date of purchase to complete each course. An extension may be offered for extenuating circumstances. In this case, Contact Us with specific details including your name, reason for extension request and time extension needed.
When will I become a “certified” aromatherapist?
Once you have completed all of the Level 1 Courses, you will earn your Level 1 Holistic Aromatherapy Certificate of Completion. When you have completed both, Level 1 & 2 courses, you will earn your Level 2 Professional Holistic Aromatherapy Certificate of Completion. When you have completed all Level 1, 2 & 3 courses, you will earn your level 3 Clinical Aromatherapy Certificate of Completion.
Once I complete a course, how long will I need to wait to receive my Certificate of Completion?
We have a detailed and efficient online school program that allows you to print your Certificate upon successful completion of all the requirements for each particular course. When you are logged into your account, locate your course, and find the link to “print” your certificate.
