The JennScents Holistic Aromatherapy Comprehensive Guide
The JennScents Holistic Aromatherapy Comprehensive Guide was a labor of love for author, Jennifer Pressimone. It is a compilation of her education, references, resources and personal experience. She shares over 100 essential oil profiles, numerous carrier oils, charts for physical, mental and emotional aromatherapy support, mind-body-gut connection and a whole lot more.
How the 100+ Essential Oils Were Chosen
Jennifer uses about 125-130 essential oils in her aromatherapy business. She wanted to share information and her experience with the ones she uses the most including lavender, lemongrass, oregano and rosemary. In addition, she wanted to bring greater, in-depth knowledge on the oils being employed by the majority of essential oil industry. These 100+ essential oils are being used often, so people need authentic education to enhance their knowledge and skills on how and when to use them for specific mind-body needs. She included in the book, science and evidence-based research, historical facts and recipes that shows a true efficacy of aromatherapy in a practical situation.
What was the inspiration for the book?
Jennifer shares, “Truly, I was having a rough couple of years with the loss of my dad and grandfather. I needed something to connect me back to me and to my aromatherapy roots. The book was a way for me to bring healing to my heart, mind and soul. I poured my knowledge, education, wisdom and intuition into every word I shared. It gave me something positive to focus on. Everybody has their own story of how they got connected to aromatherapy. Mine was for personal healing, and it still provides personal healing on all levels. I want to be that resource, reference guide and light to help anyone, no matter where they are on their journey, find their own healing.”
What Was Jennifer’s Favorite Part About Writing The Book?
Jennifer shares her favorite part about writing the book was connecting on a much deeper, intimate level with each essential oil. She immersed herself in the scent of each essential oil as she was writing about them. She also used that essential oil in a blend with other oils to see its true relationship within that blend. Was it dominant, balancing or an undertone? It was really like in aromatherapy playground.
How Was the Research Done For the Book?
Jennifer has been fortunate in her career to have studied and trained with a plethora of natural health and medical professionals. Much of the research in the book came from that in-depth education, courses and workshops she took coupled with her hands-on experience to prove the information valid. She also connected with several colleagues to learn about their latest research as well as including science-based studies published at the National Institute of Health. She shares essential oils for immune health, addictions, coughs, headaches, emotions and more.
We asked Jennifer, “what legacy do you want to be remembered for in aromatherapy?” She replied, “Having a legacy in aromatherapy that shares kindness, compassion and a desire to help people would be rewarding. To know I helped be a part of that, in making our aromatherapy community supportive and uplifting. God provided me with extraordinary gifts and a deep understanding of essential oil‘s, how to blend them for even the most intricate health ailments and a gift to teach my wisdom and share that with others. I feel a deep connection with helping people connect back to their authentic self to heal emotionally and mentally. Knowing that I made a difference in even one life will be worth my entire journey.
Why is the JennScents Holistic Aromatherapy Comprehensive Guide special?
This is a great book and reference guide. Jennifer had countless pieces of paper and post it notes in a binder for years. Notes of information she learned from mentors, notes and formulas she was inspired to create and her devised theories in aromatherapy and natural health healing. In Jennifer’s words, “I love my book. It was an honor to put it together with all my references, research, knowledge, education and personal experience in a way that people can truly connect to aromatherapy. I also wanted to bring a new way to view essential oils. Translating each essential oil’s true personality so people can more effectively understand them, and know what role they can play in a blend. When you have this close relationship with the essential oil‘s, you start to see them like “people”. They have certain characteristics that make them unique. When you learn how to match that essential oil’s personality to helping yourself, or someone else, this is what develops your inner knowing and intuitive guides.”
