Top 5 Uses of Yarrow Essential Oil & Herb

I first learned of yarrow from one of my holistic health mentors, Dr. Kimberly Balas. I had just started my business and was creating essential oil blends all day, every day, 7 days a week. My energy, emotions and mind were all over the place. When Kim came in to see me one day, she picked up on that right away and asked, “Do you ground yourself every day before and after you blend with essentials oils?” I answered, “No. How do I do that?”

She taught me about three important ways to ground myself.

  1. Do a meditation or visualization every morning and night where I connect myself to the roots of the earth fostering strength, stability, and balance.
  2. Wear hematite
  3. Smell yarrow essential oil and take 1-2 yarrow capsules a day (or drink a cup of yarrow tea).

Wow, I can’t tell you how much those 3 daily routines change my mindset, emotional stability, and elevated energy level.

My Top 5 Uses of Yarrow Essential Oil & Herb

  1. Protects you against negative energy invasion, people parasites (sucking you dry) and draining people (sucking out your energy and joy).
    1. Drink one cup of tea day or take 1 capsule of yarrow herb in the morning and/or evening
    2. Smell yarrow essential oil in a nasal atomizer or diffuser every morning and evening, as well as before and after being around negative people. I like to add in a drop of pink grapefruit or orange, as well as 1 drop of palo santo or patchouli
    3. use my Energy Balancing Spray
  2. Combats fatigue and exhaustion, especially when you have given way more than you received (or allowed yourself to receive). This fatigue can feed into demotivation, feeling defeated and attacked or invaded.
    • Drink one cup of tea day or take 1 capsule of yarrow herb in the morning and/or evening
    • Smell yarrow essential oil in a nasal atomizer or diffuser every morning and evening, as well as before and after being around negative people. I like to make a combination of yarrow with 1-2 citrus oils, 1 flower oil, 1-2 camphor or tree oils, and 1 herb oil.
    • My favorite recipe –
      • Nasal atomizer
      • 4 drops yarrow essential oil
      • 4 drops orange essential oil
      • 3 drops lemon essential oil
      • 3 drops geranium essential oil
      • 2 drops pine essential oil
      • 2 drops eucalyptus essential oil
      • 2 drops thyme essential oil
  1. Native American Indians used yarrow for internal bleeding. Hence, it is helpful for bruising, vein and capillary leakage, varicose veins, scrapes and cuts. For this I have personally found that 2 capsules 2-3 times a day was helpful.
  2. Hemorrhoids – here are 2 application methods
    • Yarrow herb: Combine 1 capsule of yarrow, or 1 tablespoon of fresh crushed yarrow leaves into a golden salve or plantain salve. Mix well. Apply that poultice to the hemorrhoids area, after each time you go to the bathroom.
    • Yarrow essential oil: Combine 1 drop of yarrow essential oil into a golden salve or plantain salve (you can also use olive, rosehip, or sunflower oil). Mix well. Apply that salve or massage oil to the hemorrhoids area, after each time you go to the bathroom.
    • Tip: You can wear a pantyliner to keep the salve from staining your underwear.
    • Or use my Hemorrhoid Relief Salve
  1. Heavy menstruation: Yarrow can help calm excessive bleeding during period that leads to extreme fatigue, exhaustion, nausea, clotting and anemia.
