Aromatherapy…Olfaction in an Instant to Promote Courage and Joy

November 28, 2016 Leave your thoughts

Aromatherapy is a unique, fun and self-fulfilling practice that brings most people joy, comfort, peace, relaxation, rejuvenation, revitalization and inspiration. A single scent can provoke an immediate response to tell your body how to respond.  You see, scent travels in through the nose, to the olfactory bulb, where scent assessment and recognition takes place.  It then continues through several other cephalic organs and processes, such as the hypothalamus, hippocampus and amygdala, as it makes its way down the vagus nerve, aka the tenth cranial nerve, and triggers the “second brain”, the gut, to take action.  This instant process of “assess and act” is what makes olfaction our most powerful sense.

Most people turn to aromatherapy as a form of relaxation, room deodorizing and body care. But did you know it is also one of the most powerful tools for emotional stress, trauma and mood imbalances?  When you formulate just the right combination of single essential oils, like putting together a sports team, amazing results can happen.  For example, let’s look at lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), bergamot (Citrus bergamia), frankincense (Boswellia carteri) and cinnamon (Cinnamomum zylancium).

Lavender provokes harmony among the head, heart and gut, simultaneously. It is a balancer among all body systems, mood, behaviors and responses.

Bergamot is great to combat those addictive, self-destructive behaviors that allow negative thoughts too thrive. It lifts mood, spirits and combats feelings of losing control.

Frankincense can help someone overcome fear, anger and irritability while connecting to their inner self more freely and without judgment. It is also helpful for allergy issues, respiratory and breathing support, skin issues and urinary imbalances.

Cinnamon is like giving yourself a big hug, providing comfort, safety, security, joy and “everything will be alright.”  As a powerful antiviral, it helps to fight off those people, energies and foreign invaders that attack you.

So, when you put all four of these essential oils together, what do you get?  A magnificent group of “friends” that help you find inner peace, become content and stable in your demeanor and decision making, promote feelings of joy, positivity and courage, all while lifting mood and spirits so you can conquer anything. This might be much needed during the holidays, and is definitely a great way to start off 2017 – with positivity, courage and joy.

1 teaspoon Aqua-Sol Silver (optional: immune booster)

Combine all ingredients in a 2oz. spray bottle, cap, shake well and label.  Use at least 2-3 times daily and anytime you need a “pick me up” or mood booster. This is the non-alcoholic version of “liquid courage”, lol.
