Essential Oil Scent Contamination

December 7, 2017 Leave your thoughts

That’s MY Oil Did you know there is such a thing as essential oil contamination? I was recently at an event sharing the benefits of essential oils, and letting attendees smell and connect with the different scents. One lady came up to me and told me how much she loves essential oils. She then excitedly grabbed the bottle out of my hand, opened the lid and placed her fingers over the orifice reducer top to “shake it up” (you do not need to shake up your essential oils in this manner).  She then proceeded to dab the orifice reducer top... October 23, 2017 1 Comment

Ginger to the Rescue Thanksgiving time is upon us. We will all be overeating, indulging in treats and in need of some serious digestive support. I bet every table will have some form of ginger root on it. Most people are familiar with ginger candy and herbal tea. However, the essential oil is somewhat under utilized. Adding ginger essential oil with roman chamomile and peppermint (in equal parts) can be the trifecta of “Thanksgiving Overindulgence”.  Make up in a roll-on or spray, and place them on the dinner table with instructions of use on the label. You will be everyone’s... Read More

Essential Oils and Hydration

May 2, 2017 1 Comment

How do your essential oil's help the mind and body stay hydrated? When you smell an essential oil, it does not automatically increase your hydration level. What it does do is provide antioxidant and antibacterial properties, that nourish and empower cells to function at its best. When you give the body the right tools, it will perform its job optimally. Certain scents enhance lymphatic circulation which assists nutrients to be delivered where they need to go, and toxins to be eliminated properly. When this nutrient balance happens, cells and tissues can obtain and stay hydrated. You've heard that saying, it's... Read More

Oregano Essential Oil vs. Oil of Oregano Supplement

May 1, 2017 1 Comment

What is the difference between oregano essential oil and oil of oregano (herbal supplement)? Dilution and potency. Oregano essential oil has gone through a steam distillation process and is a full concentrate of that procedure.  Oregano contains a phenol called carvacrol with which the potency varies between essential oil and the herbal supplement of Oil of Oregano (many supplement companies use a standardized dilution).  Oil of Oregano supplement is emulsified in a fat carrier such as safflower or olive oil, usually an extract, that is either distributed in a soft gel or liquid form. It is not a full concentrate,... Read More

Does Lemon Essential Oil gobble up toxins?

April 7, 2017 Leave your thoughts

As a holistic aromatherapy practitioner, I get asked questions on a daily basis about how to use essential oils, and what to use them for.  I recently was asked. “does lemon essential oil help to detoxify our bodies and gobble up or digest the petrochemicals that end up in our system every day?” Lemon essential oil per se doesn’t conquer these tasks directly. Rather, it ignites while blood cell production (immunity and cellular function), and enhances overall cellular and physiological energy to feed organs and tissues to do their job more optimally. When this happens, the body will naturally be... Read More
