Muscle pain is no joke. When you don’t feel good, or are experiencing any level of pain, all you want is that quick relief remedy. What if a special combination of plants and essential oils could offer you that much needed relief? All-natural, safe for most people and effective. I’ll share some of my favorite recipes that I have used, or my clients have used to alleviate that muscle strain, sprain, tension, pulled muscle and overall pain.
Why Aromatherapy Can Help With Pain Relief
Aromatherapy has thousands of years of histories from all cultures from Egyptians, to Greeks, Romans, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has been used and proven time and time again in real-life, applicable situations and through evidenced-based studies. There are a number of essential oils that have been scientifically proven to be analgesics, or pain relievers. In a study published in the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology (source) in May 2015, Rose (Rosa damascena) essential oil was shown to deliver analgesic benefits for painful menstruation. In an August 2015 study, lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil was shown to demonstrate analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties (source). Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata) essential oil demonstrated anesthetic qualities in pain relief (source).
