Fear! Many people associate with an uncomfortable, stressful, paralyzing and cringing feeling. What if we changed our perception of fear? And associated it with something not so paralyzing and negative? Our minds are a powerful resource we have to overcome and conquer anything we set out to do. You have heard that saying before, “mind over matter”, right? Well, it’s true. When your mind believes, the “matter” becomes resolvable. It becomes a challenge that needs solving, addressed or conquered.
This is where you get to exercise your inner Fear Warrior. F.E.A.R. stands for Forward Evolution Achieves Resolution. Resolve, not fret. Learn skills of how to manage stress, anxiety, fear, uncertainty and feeling unfulfilled, with these doable action steps.
There are countless possible fears that one can experience. Anything from fear of public speaking or performing to animal phobias, fear of failure, natural disasters, and certain activities. Keep in mind, everyone has something they “fear”, and there are different degrees and severities of fear. Make a list of your fears and answer the questions above, honestly.
Next, rate them, as far as severity or debility. For example, fear of heights may be a 6 on a scale of 1 (least scared) to 10 (most scared), compared to fear of snakes. I use this ranking system to decide which fear I will conquer next. Until you build up your “stomach”, maybe start with a low ranking fear to attack. O blood types typically jump right in and go after the 10’s first, while A blood types typically start with the 1’s first. Remember, this is not a competition, or judging contest. You are doing this for you. Be your own hero.
Now, create your plan and put it into action. Let’s go conquer some fears.
Conquering Your Fears and Transforming Into Courage
Our bodies are extremely resilient. Different emotions, when not processed and released, are harbored in different organs. Fear, is housed in the kidneys. Thus, those with chronic kidney and urinary issues, should address their fear culprits. The kidneys are responsible for filtering out toxins, managing electrolyte balance and helping the absorption of minerals. When this is not happening, the kidney’s “spasm” in a sense, thus having a panic attack, which we experience as fear. Here are some questions to ask yourself in your quest to mastering being a Fear Warrior.
- What are you afraid of?
- Why are you afraid of it?
- What would happen if you confronted it (other than possibly passing out, lol)?
- What skills and actions steps are needed to help you confront that fear? Make a list so you have a visual.
- What will you do to reward yourself for conquering that fear? Yes, you get to celebrate fear conquering milestones. It is a reminder that you can do anything, and with great perseverance, comes great reward.
- Now, pick 1 fear from your list. Ready? Go! It’s time to conquer it! You got this!
