Many people have a hard time separating their individuality from their professional occupation. Over time you lose your personal identity and forget what make you happy, what drives and motivates you and the how-to skills to do something about it. Finding your aromatic WHY in your personal life, separate from your professional life is important to regaining your-self identity. This helps you feel empowered to embrace your uniqueness and special qualities. Aromatherapy can help you do both – be an individual as well as a professional.
Which Aromatherapy Personality Am I?
To start the process of rediscovering you, get out a piece of paper and a pen, pencil, marker or crayon. Make two columns. One titled “ME” and the other titled “Professional ME”. Now add trait and qualities for each column that match up with you are, as an individual, and as a professional. Yes, there will be some overlap, but the goal is for you to see how you are different from your business self. For example, when people as you to describe yourself, do you use titles such as mom, wife, sister, business owner, etc.? Or do you say I am a loving, caring, compassion person, that loves gardening, yoga and the color purple?
Next, I want you to grab the essential oils that you have on hand (only good, 100% pure quality oils, no fragrance oils). Smell them. As you go through and connect with each one, rank it on a scale of 1-10. 1 being, “ew, gross, no way”, and 10 being, “oh yes, I love it!”. These oils will help you determine what you can diffuse today, to move you closer to who you are. Now, when you don’t like an oil, it doesn’t mean you don’t need it. But it can tap into an emotion you might not be quite ready to work on. If you are, then add 1 drop of that “ok to not really” oil. In doing this, it will help you tap into your inner being, and bring you closer to the real you.

Aromatherapy Business Scents – What is your why?
Your business “why” can propel you in business, help you connect with like-minded people, and those who don’t know they need you yet. Serving out your “why” should be rewarding, fulfilling, inspiring and rejuvenating. If it takes you away from your core being, happiness and overall mission, then something needs to change. Take a few minutes to consider, define and connect with your professional why. Sometimes to get to the authentic you and your why, you have to create what I call a “Personal Milemarker Map™“. This allows you to see where you were, where you are and how far you’ve come, along with the crucial moments and events that shaped and influenced you into who you are today.
